Another new jumper post!

It seems my blog is taking a "want/just bought" path... I'll try to break out of that soon, I promise! It's just that I bought a new jumper from eBay last night and I'm really excited about it.

I'm not sure if it's Japanese or Korean, but it's freaking cute.

IT ALSO COMES WITH... MITTENS!

I can't wait 'till I get this jumper. I need to stock up for winter!

DO WANT: Jumbo MOMO-chan plush

I'm adding this to my wish list: a jumbo MOMO-chan plush. I'm going through a bit of a kawaii plush doll phase, and this sweet little cutie is the next on my list. Following MOMO-chan will be Rilakkuma. Surprisingly, I have no Rilakkuma plushes. (T__T)

MOMO-chan is a friend of JUJU-chan, and is a Japanese sweet bean jam bun. Except this plush, of course, isn't edible... She's just to cuddle, talk to and look at with a similar expression on your face as MOMO-chan's... Something like this :3 (turn your head side-ways!!)

LOOK HOW BIG SHE IS!

This delightful, kawaii MOMO-chan plush costs about US$23.40 (how much is that in Australian dollars!?) from Strapya World and she's about 28cm x 23cm. I'm going to avoid buying her for a while though, since I've spent about $200 on kawaii online shopping over the past 2 weeks.

TOTORO!!

I'm a big fan of Studio Ghibli films directed by Hayao Miyazaki, and have recently developed a strong love for a character named Totoro from the movie "My Neighbour Totoro".

Just the other day, I went on a hunt for a large Totoro plush and one in particular almost made my heart stop.

This giant Totoro plush is 28" and can be found here.

Unfortunately, however, this plush would've costed me about US$270 (and even more in Australian dollars!) so I decided to browse around a little more.

While searching on eBay, I came across this cute fella:

This Totoro plush is 17", and while not as large and detailed
as the previous Totoro plush, it was inexpensive and satisfied
my need for TOTORO!!

The plush I ended up buying came from this seller and costed me about $24, with free postage and handling. I really look forward to getting my cuddly new friend. ^_^

Ice-cream jumper

Today, before my Asian modern history class at uni, I decided to browse around at one of the university market stalls that are usually there on Wednesday.

I bought the first thing that caught my eye - a jumper with a cartoon version of melted strawberry, vanilla and chocolate ice-cream oozing down the front and back of it.

I took a couple of pictures when I got home:

Notice the cute little pictures in the pockets?
It's a lion, and a bottle of tomato sauce.

My phone will soon be turned into a cake!

Among not only Japanese girls but others who are interested in Japanese pop culture, there is a rapidly increasing trend and craft called decoden. This craft involves gluing bling, small toys and miniature sweets to phone cases, or the surface of a gadget itself.

One particular style of decoden that I am interested in is "deco sweets". Usually this style consists of coating the phone (or iPod) case in whipped cream, which is actually simply white silicone squeezed from a tube. Miniature clay sweets are then placed, all bunched together, in the whipped cream and left to set.

The result looks something like this:

Recently, I bought some of my own decoden supplies from a variety of etsy stores. These include...

Silicone clay for the whipped cream effect
(US$6.50 from DecoSweets)

Mini sweets, or "cabochons"
(US$9.95 from Miniature Sweet)

Clear and light pink rhinestones
(2 packs for US$2.20 each from pinkchoc)

I should be receiving all of these hopefully within the next month or so, and I'm really looking forward to getting them. I'll probably take photos for my blog while "decodening", so you'll get to see the result!

Cassie Ainsworth's poodle skirt - WANT!!

Cassie Ainsworth, played by actress Hannah Murray, is a character from the British television series, Skins. She would have to be - by far - one of my favourite characters on the TV show. Cassie is a spacey girl with a cheerful (yet confusing) attitude who can be constantly heard saying, "Oh, wow!" and "Lovely!"

One thing that makes my eye twitch in a "WANT!! NAO!!" manner is Cassie's poodle skirt. Well, I think it's a poodle skirt. The prints on the skirt could be of some other dog, but regardless, I want it.

It was hard to find a good photo of it, but I did manage to find a couple of semi-decent ones:

Aaaaaand:

The only problem is that I have no idea where to start looking for such a skirt. I could try to find some similar fabric and make my own - I would do that, actually, if I weren't positively hopeless at sewing. Anyone got any good skirt patterns?

Oh oh oh, and I am also in love with this outfit of Cassie's:
